Canberra Bushfire Smoke Update 5th January 2020:
As this stage, our workshop starting on January 20th will go ahead. We will be working with Canberra Technology Park and Film Plus, to ensure good air quality in our workshop facilities. We will also be adapting our Summer program to focus on films about the environment as well as teaching about working with a green screen and animation techniques. We will continue to provide updates, if any thing changes.

Workshop Overview


Sanguineti Media’s Filmmaker HERO Workshop will be run again during this School Holiday!
 

This fun and educational workshop will see attendees become filmmakers, by producing a 2-4 minute short film over the course of a week.

We have have 100% completion rate of workshop films! Every film begun has been finished!

Our workshops have now produced a total of 26 short films with several films selected to the Canberra Short Film Festival.

THERE ARE TWO PROGRAMS THAT WILL CONSECUTIVELY.

JUNIOR  PROGRAM (5 Day Program)
9am - 3pm
Jan 20 - Jan 24, 2020

 

  • Suitable for primary school students 

  • Typical age groups are 9-12 years of age.

  • Will work and develop a 9 shot story with a beginning, middle and end sequences.

  • Will produce storyboards of their films prior to filming

  • Will design movie posters to advertise their short film.

  • Will have access to iMovie to edit their film

     

  • Day 1 will focus on producing a great three page script and become familiar with basic camera skills and sound equipment.

  • Day 2 will look at the storyboarding process and telling stories using shots.

  • Day 3 attendees will film their scripts. Attendees can appear in their own film.

  • Day 4 will involve cutting their short films together.

  • Day 5 the final cut will be made, as well as a poster design workshop and final screening at the end of day.

HERO PROGRAM (5 Day Program)

9am - 3pm

Running Consecutively with Junior Program
 

  • Suitable for students in high school or above.

  • Typical age groups are 13-17 years of age, but we accept any student currently studying at a school, college or university.

  • Will learn and explore concepts of a three act structure to tell their story.

  • Will develop their films using a series of wide, medium and close shots in the storyboarding process.

  • Will be given access to additional filmmaking equipment such as DJI Osmo and GoPro camera.

  • Will have choice to use iMovie or Final Cut Pro (more advanced editing program) to edit their film.

  • If time, will have opportunity to design a poster using photoshop.

     

  • Day 1 will focus on producing a great three page script and look at the storyboarding process and telling stories using shots.

  • Day 2 will look at the storyboarding process and telling stories using shots.

  • Day 3 attendees will film their scripts. Attendees can appear in their own film.

  • Day 4 will involve cutting their short films together.

  • Day 5 the final cut will be made, as well as a poster design workshop and final screening at the end of day.


Filmmakers will work in groups of 3-4 within their own programs only. If filmmakers wish to work with each other, they will need to come up with a group name and if you could please note this in the registration process, we can ensure they are together.


Attendees who have already completed one of our previous workshops may be fast tracked during the development sessions, and may begin filming earlier in the week.
